Blech!
Describes well how I'm feeling about both life and reading, at the moment. On paper Everything is Miscellaneous by David Weinberger a potentially interesting book about information retrieval made dull by the author's penchant for over explaining things. Perhaps just a function of trying to make a one-trick pony look like an entire circus, but it all seems repetitive. Online Christine Rapoza's Galaxy Dancers an interesting bit of science fiction that desperately needs editing for structure – time and scene jumps are jarringly unmarked, and the climax and ending seem rushed and somewhat slapdash. Also found A.C.Henley's McKee III – in bits on her yahoogroup – as good as the first two, though I look forward to seeing it once she's had a chance to add some more flesh. Checked out G. S. Binkley, and author I found on the Sandbox 101 site, whose Pillow Talk fits into a genre I'd never seen before: PWP without consumation – kinda leaves me wondering whether the author thought PWP stood for Point? what Point?...
