Flying Fur

It's been a couple of months since the last time the puppies had a serious fight... I wonder if it's as disconcertingly unexpected to them as it is to us, or whether, maybe, they have their own doggy versions of year-end-audit, PMS, Law-Society-investigation, last-nerve-snapping crankyness. To us it all seems sudden, a 0-60 escalation from happy puppies to throat ripping rage in microseconds, to them ... who knows. Once separated, they're almost as quick to make up again as they were to rage.

Around the edges, I'm re-reading the chapter of the Canadian Law textbook that I'll be teaching tomorrow -- surprised to find one of the links in the reference section is to a web site I created (whee fame!)

Also re-discovered a not-so-new new author I like lots, L. A. Tucker, whose Light Fantastic I'd read and enjoyed before. It was as good on re-reading, and I have high hopes for the sequel Inside Out. Tried reading S.M.Stirling's The Sky People, couldn't get into it – too much retro-politik, and, somehow, while I can suspend disbelief as far as Venus and Mars being habitable, I can't quite keep it suspended when Neanderthals pick up submachine guns and use them without any adjustment period.
