Citation Style Guides for Internet and Electronic Sources (overview)
Internet and electronic information, with no print equivalents, presents new challenges to scholars. Increasingly information is being published only in electronic formats, and questions about how to cite these sources in academic papers have become frequent at library reference desks. Although a definitive standard for the citation of these resources has yet to emerge, there are now several printed guides and Internet sites which can provide guidance. This guide provides references to these sources.

Legal Research Materials: Legal Citation
CITING INTERNET DOCUMENTS(answers we need)
Legal materials , including full text cases and statutes are becoming increasingly available on the World Wide Web. The 4th edition of the McGill Guide offers direction as to the proper citation for electronic materials. Good source, also explains paper citation. I think we should use this unless we're dealing with the Supreme Court, or until Ontario courts adopt the CCC format in the next blog.

From the intro: Gender Equity in Islam presents an overview of the status and rights of Muslim women as defined by the Qur'an and Sunnah. In this brief but important work, Dr. Jamal Badawi
examines the spiritual, social, economic, and political aspects of women's position in Islam and, in doing so, effectively summarizes the role of women in Muslim society. Further, in explaining the sources that provide the foundations for Islam's stance on gender equity, the author discusses the role of Islamic scholars in their approach to women's issues.Gender Equity in Islam

CIC Canada | 2001 Annual Immigration PlanMessage from Elinor Caplan, would make a good foot note for first sentences...
Immigration has been a defining characteristic of Canada. From our earliest days as a nation through to the global transformations of recent decades, it has been vital to our social, economic and cultural development. Today, our immigration and refugee protection programs are widely regarded, both at home and abroad, as the very measure of our values and of our maturity as a nation. Immigrants and refugees built our country, and they will continue to do so if we are to grow and prosper in the future.

After 17 months of fearing for his safety in his native Venezuela, gay William Granados will finally be allowed to return to Canada. But first he’s got to cough up about $2,000. Among other fees, he’s got to pay for his own deportation. “It’s the Canadian government that took his removal on itself and now he’s being asked to pay for it,” says Granados’s lawyer El Farouk Khaki.
Granados was deported in June 1999 because immigration officials didn’t accept his claim that he was a refugee on the basis of his sexual orientation. Immigrations officials doubted Granados was gay, despite his ties in the gay community through the latino group Hola, the AIDS Committee Of Toronto and the Coalition Against Homophobia. He was told to prove his homosexuality, and officials included a request for a rectal exam. Granados had one.

Women's Human Rights Resources - Refugee and Immigration Law - Articles Historical information on the development of Canada's Immigration and
Refugee Board (IRB) guidelines on gender-related persecution which were
adopted in 1993. The author discusses the rationale behind the adoption of the
guidelines, namely the recognition that many women in many countries are
persecuted solely on the basis of their sex and are not afforded state
protection.
